- Matchweek 6
- 2026/27
The second matchday of gameweek 6 started with Hull City and Everton ending in a 2-2 stalemate with David Moyes' side avoiding defeat in their opening six games of a Premier League season for the third time while Hull remain unbeaten in their first three home games of a top-flight season for only the second time.
Elsewhere, Goals from Daichi Kamada, Jefferson Lerma, and Yeremy Pino helped Crystal Palace win 3-1 against Nottingham Forest, who will rue their wastefulness after squandering numerous chances to extend their 1-0 lead at a point, denying Oliver Glasner a happy return to Selhurst Park.
Then, the last game of the day. The Main Event some would say. A hostile Anfield crowd welcomed Manchester City amidst being found guilty of breaching the Premier League's financial regulations. It did not go well for the home side as they lost 3-0 to the Cityzens. Goals from Erling Braut Haaland and Jeremy Doku scored in the space of three minutes, after a Ryan Gravenberch red card. Things went from bad to worse for Liverpool which was compounded by the third goal from Rayan Cherki who added further gloss in the 78th minute, slotting home after a sensational move that involved 41 passes.
